Week 5- job

This week by doing the job research assignment I started to realize the things I value in a workplace and work environment. I care more about my health and body than how much money I make, you only get one body but there is plenty of money in the world. I am going into medical it and noticed that I’d prefer to work from home but that’s not super realistic in the field I’d be entering. I also realized that how important it is going to be to be organized going forward, in my education and in my future career. This is something I struggle with usually but I don’t have much to organize so it doesn’t effect my work much. But in the future I’m gonna have more more important information that I have to keep track of and it is becoming increasingly important to be organized.

week 4- techno-ology

This week in class we talked about ergonomics, and it really brought attention to sustainability and technology and the relationship it has. from a biological point of view along with a humanitarian view. biologically it seems the more advanced we get the more we notice that this rate of progress is not sustainable. technologically our society has been rapidly progressing for a long time to the point where being human 50 years from now is drastically different to living now in a lot of ways. The food we eat, how we communicate what society perceives as odd or normal have all changed drastically and even the way humans' views humanity. prior to the gigantic technological leap's humans were less aware of our capabilities and the idea of us having any sort of control over things like asteroids and weather was science fiction but this is now something a lot of the new generation believe we are capable of. This has raised many questions of how much power should humans really have t...

Technology

This week I reflected on how much power gives all of us, we have so much information at out fingertips. the internet is rich with information it anyone is capable of learning everything. prior to these skills were harder to be introduced to, information spread slow, but people were less distracted. it can be easy to get paralysis from having so many options at all times.

Week 2- learning curve

This week I reflected on the relationship between confidence and ability. They are both important and have an interesting relationship with each other. From a technological point of view as they talked about in the Ted talk people have certain invisible advantages that people don’t think about. Whether that be connections to people or familiarity in a environment, these can effect a persons confidence along with capabilities. If you grow around successful people the likelihood of also being successful increases and seems more attainable compared to someone who doesn’t know any one successfully so it inspires confidence. The main thing about confidence and ability that intrigued me is the different mindsets that someone goes through while entering a new field. For me personally I remember about a year ago when I first started playing bass. The first month was a struggle then I got a little comfortable and I thought I was so good. A month went by and my confidence in my abilities be...

Week 1

I enjoyed this weeks ted talk a lot, the topic of technology and how it has changed the world is very interesting to me and I find myself pondering it  in my own time. Some thoughts that usually come to me are if all this advancement is beneficial in the end especially the way that society uses technology “the newer the better” is almost always the narrative. But this is not always true because even if something is more capable doesn’t mean the person using it is more capable with it or if that someone having the capabilities is truly going to benefit their lives. Technology has made the world always pushing for the next advancement which is good but at some points it seems that forward isn’t always forward. With everything in life there is positive and negative and I feel like technology is positive in that it pushes what we are and what we are capable of but on the other hand we forget where have came from. Before all the technology was in the world. people were just trying...
