Week 8- internet of things

 Hi, this week by watching the videos and reading it’s very clear to me the different problems solutions and problems that have arisen because of our advances in technology. In the ted talks they talk about how these cameras that we only have access to are not as private as we in imagine them to be. The website they showed to access cameras is very scary and also such a crazy thing to see, Almost science fiction. Along with this came a lot of solutions to the technologies have made great automations to their systems to make them more efficient and helpful. This reminds me of one o f the first weeks Ted talks where the speaker was explaining how technology amplifies energy whether that be positive or negative and this is the case here as well.

Week 5- job

 This week by doing the job research assignment I started to realize the things I value in a workplace and work environment. I care more about my health and body than how much money I make, you only get one body but there is plenty of money in the world. I am going into medical it and noticed that I’d prefer to work from home but that’s not super realistic in the field I’d be entering. I also realized that how important it is going to be to be organized going forward, in my education and in my future career. This is something I struggle with usually but I don’t have much to organize so it doesn’t effect my work much. But in the future I’m gonna have more more important information that I have to keep track of and it is becoming increasingly important to be organized.

Universal design week 7

 This week through watching the videos and lecture I have realized the importance of universal design and making things as easy as possible to use for everyone, even if people speak different languages technology can be universal and speak to everybody.  This possible through visual cues most notably, doesn’t matter where you are from or what word you use to describe something if there is s visual reference for others to refer to. Technology can be a universal language if made effectively the possibilities are endless. Week 11- soft skills

This week I looked at the lecture about soft skills and it confirmed my suspicion that technology comes with a trade off. In this case it means out soft skills as a society are starting to lack because of our reliance on technology. Certain elements of tasks get lost when creating new advancements but on doing so some of the enjoyment goes as well. I see it as a constant give and take between doing things naturally vs doing things with technological help. We may save time but lose some satisfaction in the process.
